Kontraste sind was feines. Erst durch sie wird man sich eigentlich darünber bewusst, was das Andere überhaupt ist. Peter ist, weil Paul ist, sagte mal ein schlauer Mann. So begehen wir an diesem hoffentlich für alle beschaulichen, zweiten Weihnachtsfeiertag in Bezug auf die letzte Deeper Shades Sause das volle Kontrastprogramm. Statt 73,5 eingeflogene UK DJs, möchten wir dieses mal einfach Fünfe gerade, den lieben Gott einen guten Mann sein lassen.
Als Kontrast zum Kontrastprogramm wird das musikalische Konzept des Abends allerdings sehr passend und themenbezogen: Deeper Liquid heißt die Losung. Es darf sich auf Calibre, Marky, Streicher, Deepe Flächen und all das gefreut werden, was diesen Abend zu einer relaxten, Cocktail-Schlürfenden, entspannten und vor allem schönen Clubnacht machen. Es ist schließlich Weihnachten, und ob Du willst oder nicht: Das kann sehr wundervoll sein.

Sound of the Master: ZEN!

Als DJ Zen im Juli als Laie die Fire Sessions besuchte, konnte niemand ahnen, dass er Berlin als Magister (lat. Lehrer) verlassen würde. Zum Magister wird man im vorliegenden Falle ernannt, das kann man nicht lernen. Und so geschah in jenem Juli etwas ganz besonderes: Ein Mann betrat die Bühne, schaute in einen gemütlichen Berliner Club, nahm sich der jungen Menge sympathisch an, wie es ein echter Lehrer mit seinen Schülern eben macht, und zeigte ihnen die Welt des Wobbel.
Es war eine phantastische Reise, so bemerkenswert, dass seine Schüler ihn hochachtungsvoll und mit Ehrfurcht erfüllt zu ihrem Master kürten: Sound of the Master Zen! So lautete im Verlauf des Abends der Zuruf des MC’s, und die Menge riss die Arme hoch.

Nun kommt er wieder, der Master. Besucht die Fire Sessions, und hat auch dieses mal wieder sehr viel Reise im Gepäck. Ein gutes Gefühl, wenn man weiß, dass ein echter MA die Bühne betreten wird und die Welt der stärksten Strömung des Drum and Bass der letzten Jahre vorträgt.

Never Seen Us Coming umschreibt eine Zusammenkunft aus Künstlern, die über mehrere Länder in Europa verstreut sind. Im Vordergrund stehen hier vor allem der Spaß am Drum and Bass und die Bekenntnis zur Qualität. Bewusst wenig im Rampenlicht, ziehen es die Mitglieder vor, kleinere Clubs zu bespielen und diese auf extatische Weise zum Glühen zu bringen. Es gibt nur ein Ziel für diese Jungs, die - allesamt in ordentlichem Beschäftigungsverhältnis stehend - keine Notwendigkeit sehen, ans liebe Geld zu denken. Sie wünschen dem Publikum zu Beginn des Events eine gute Nacht, um dann alles und jeden für die folgenden Stunden auf eins zu programmieren: Abfahrt!

Focus D und Balance, die sich als Köpfe hinter dem Namen NSUC verstehen, zitieren sich daher folgerichtig mit breitem Grinsen gerne selbst: We want you to have a good time. That’s our aim, our purpose and our pleasure. Im Gepäck haben die beiden eine ganze Fliegerladung voll Engländer, die ebenfalls nichts anderes im Sinn haben, als der Berliner Drum and Bass Szene zu zeigen, was London-Sound in natura bedeutet. Angekündigt haben sich Jungleman, Kbasha, Hoax und deren Groupies. Die Amtssprache wird also auch auf dem Tanzfloor an diesem Abend wohl die englische sein, um am Ende des Abends festzustellen: Diese Abfahrt habe wir nicht kommen sehen!

Ob Callide wohl collide meinte als er sich als DJ jenen Namen gab? Zumindest wäre es nicht unpässlich, betrachtet man seine zahlreichen Releases auf seinem eigenen Label “System Shock” und diverser anderer wie XS oder Mix n Blen Recordings. Hier prallt ein Jump Up Tune auf den nächsten, jeder sog. Dancefloor-Smasher löst den folgenden ab. Zu recht also kam er als Greenhorn locker-flockig in die Arena, um dann mal eben so den 1Xtra Cutting Room von L Double zu gewinnen. Das spricht Bände: Er ist DJ, der produziert! Mixen, cutten, droppen, Kreativ-Sein: all das verbindet dieser Mann an den Decks auf Weltklasse-Niveau. Zusammen mit MC Soultrain, neben Semtex MC aka Santana Fire Sessions’ neue MC-Speerspitze, sowie Phantom Warrior, Cymon, Nursa und Impact MC, der zusammen mit Callide anreist und Gloucester representet, verspricht dieser Abend ein Top-Quality-Event zu werden. Wenn zwei der besten und am längsten aktiven MCs Deutschlands bei einer Clubnacht aufeinandertreffen, dann kann man wohl bedenkenlos anmerken: Big Tings Agwan! An diesem Freitag wird die sog. Double S Connection endlich haut- und ohrnah im neuen Calabash Club die MICs strapazieren, um eindrucksvoll unter Beweis zu stellen, dass Großraumperformance insbesondere in kleinen Clubs - über ein gutes Soundsystem verstärkt - ein Garant für eine unvergessliche Clubnacht sind. Wenn dann noch Visuals und drei DJs dazukommen, die sich vor allem dem Rave- und Wobbelsound verschrieben haben, dann nennen wir das mal - ebenfalls bedenkenlos - ein 5-Gängemenü mit amtlicher Vorspeise, drei Hauptspeisen und fettem Dessert.

Das Gerücht machte ja nun schon länger die Runde. Wo gehobelt wird, da fallen Späne. Oder war’s: Wo Rauch ist, da ist auch Feuer? Jedenfalls ist es nun tatsächlich beschlossene Sache: Der Fire Club schließt endgültig seine Pforten! Vielen war er ein nicht ins Konzept-Passender – wie auch immer dieses Konzept diesseits von Ku‘dorf und Bitch Eden aussieht – gemütlicher Wohnzimmer-Club, in dem manch Unerwartetes und viel Schönes erlebt werden konnte. Manch einem diente das kleine Schmuckstück sogar als Geburtsstätte. Nicht verwunderlich also, dass der Betreiber – von vielen liebevoll Der Wolli genannt – unbedingt ein Hinweisschild installieren musste mit der Aufschrift: Hier bitte keine Selbstmorde und Fehlgeburten – Danke! Er war sympathisch anders und bunt, angenehm unkonventionell und manchmal vielleicht auch etwas lasch. Aber so ist das nunmal bei einem Gesamtkunstwerk: Friss, oder stirb!
Am 5.9. geht der Fire Club also auf die grüne Meile – es wird eine lange Meile. Denn angekündigt haben sich zum Absch(l)uss neben den Fire Sessions auch die Gebrüder ClubClub. Neben den gewohnt hochkarätigen Line Ups dieser beiden Formationen, darf sich auch auf ein komplett neues Soundsystem gefreut werden. Bleibt abzuwarten, wer am Ende noch das Tanzbein schwingen kann, denn vor mittags am nächsten Tag ist hier ganz sicher nicht Schluss: Fire Club R.I.P!

Was Herr Soulpride da vor fast genau einem Jahr in der zweiten Stunde der Sendung abgeliefert hat, ist der sog. deepe shit. Und dass das im schnell-lebigen Drum and Bass auch heute gilt, mag seine Qualität wohl eindrucksvoll unterstreichen. Damals fast 100% dubplate business, stehen die schwarzen Rillen heute bei Dagma. As you might know I’m not only part of Fire Sessions but member of one of the leading netlabels Plainaudio as well. So I don’t want to keep it secret that we just released some wicked stuff of a highly talented Russian producer called Mendelayev.

The tunes of Russian beats-berserk Mendelayev have been around for a while now. They’re slowly making their way down from the east through releases on Syncopathic or Transmute Records and also through the sets of some brave DJs that dare to chop the air into pieces with the razerblade-break-o-ramas the man is reknown for.
For Plainaudio, Mendelayev comes up with three tracks of his trademark sound (and trademark sound it is, trust me!). We have been looking forward to this release for quite some time now and we are very happy to share our excitement with you!

There was a time German music was very unpopular to German youths. Times change sometimes and so it comes German music gets more and more popular to the local youths. But not that it seems to be something nice. Texts are very simple and sometimes even nonsense. It is because you can bawl it better when you are drunken :-). This one is a master piece of example. Very simple text (quite nonsense), simple melody… but damn, it works. I wanna have a beer now and start to bawl with that sh*t.

Although we mainly focus on jump up on our parties we have no fear of contact with the dark side of drum and bass. When DJ Dynamic visits us it is guranteed that it gets hard and harder. Here is a little video. Poor quality but I think you can get the hardness

I had that feeling like changing something. Several nights later (and breaking up my breaking up smoking :)) I found this result as acceptable. Just to come arround a bit more friendly. Denn schließlich ist Jump Up Drum and Bass das, was zur Zeit den stärksten Einfluss in Sachen DnB und Party ausübt. Mit Full Range Soundsystem und Lightshow sind die Vorraussetzungen jedenfalls gelegt, um einen der Meister-Wobbler in Berlin zu begrüßen.

If you are wondering why many of our files are not downloadable at the moment: Our provider (all-inkl.com) refuses to deblock the folder with the podcast-files which he blocked suprisingly this morning. Although we have free traffic by contract it seems they are not able to stand the massive international request of our podcast. Too bad for us and you. We are working on it and try to change to a reliable provider as soon as possible.  Until then we just can say “sorry”.

Fire Sessions Radio will go on air the last time this Friday. We celebrate this event after the live show @ Fire Club Berlin. Celebrate with us and remember all the nice shows we brought to you! As a gift we just charge 3 Euro at the doors.

This week our guests came from all over the world. Dj Fileas from Mannheim, Germany started the show with some exclusive trax from the new label of Ben Xo: Xposure Records. This guy is well known as a runner of DOA and aswell a fellow as he runs a weekly radioshow on Bassdrive too.
Wonderful Ill-Esha (see pic above) - from Canada - took over after Fileas. DJs Cymon and BYM from the local Berlin area finished the show. As usual: 100%!

Two hours of DJ Cymon this week. Too bad DJ Arnicus kept stuck in a major traffic jam when he was on his way from Netherlands to Berlin. So he couldn’t appear and Cymon had to fill 2 hours. No problem for him as we weren’t too much surprised: High Ways do their own thing and we calculated Arnie could come too late.

Dj Flowpro came in with such a nice classic set this week. Deeply involved with Fire Sessions from day one he is to me what you call a “nice guy”.
Not enough? DJ Vern AND DJ N’Dee from the legendary Berlin Icon Club did a very special b2b session at Fire Sessions. High quality? Hmmm, I can’t remember when it was different!

That guy is lucky he is no girl ….. hahahaha. Just kidding, ofcourse I am a gentleman and wouldn’t try to turn on a personal friend :). DJ Ignite runs a label called TrustInMusic and supports mainly upcoming and rarely knwon artists all over Germany. Big up!

Uhh yea, outstanding is what we want. Phantom Warrior and Soulpride in one show: Just crazy! Jump Up Drum and Bass from definitely two of the best Jump Up Djs in Germany.
