Server offline: Provider cannot stand heavy load of Fire Sessions anymore

February 22, 2008 by admin

If you are wondering why many of our files are not downloadable at the moment: Our provider (all-inkl.com) refuses to deblock the folder with the podcast-files which he blocked suprisingly this morning. Although we have free traffic by contract it seems they are not able to stand the massive international request of our podcast. Too bad for us and you. We are working on it and try to change to a reliable provider as soon as possible.  Until then we just can say “sorry”.

we are now checking our connections to a provider that could host us. pls be patient for some days. looks good we are back the next days.
once again: we are sorry. but as we are still absolutely uncommercial we won’t effort a managed server without really checking all alternitives.

    best, Fire Sessions

I’ve been using http://www.dreamhost.com for a while, and for the most part they’ve been pretty good. It might be worth checking it out…

What is your traffic. I could give some temporary backup space for the audio files.

    ez,

i dont think u could stand our traffic. when our provider blocked the podcast folder it caused a traffic of almost 8 TB that month. atm it is a problem about the costs. any provider i ask with that huge traffic tells me that it costs a lot. as we are still uncommercial and want to stay so, costs of 100-200euro per month is just not affordable.

    grz, ben
